2012 isn’t about Barack Obama or the GOP nominee.  It’s not even about who controls Congress.

Sure, the presidential election will dominate the headlines.  Millions will be pumped into the race and the direction of America will pivot on the outcome.  But the race for the White House isn’t what 2012 is really about.  2012, for many, will mean a paramount struggle is on for the very essence of liberty.

In a letter I recently received from the Republican National Committee, Chairman Reince Priebus claimed Barack Obama has lied.  According to Priebus, the President promised “to have the most transparent administration in history” and Mr. Obama promised lobbyists “wouldn’t find a job in his White House.”

The fact is Mr. Obama has hired at least 50 lobbyists.  The Obama administration hasn’t been transparent at all by meeting with special interests away from the Whitehouse at nearby restaurants and coffee shops.

The administration refuses to give details about how donors to his 2008 campaign received millions of dollars in stimulus money.  Mr. Priebus contends 1.1 million jobs have been lost since the Obama stimulus plan was passed and unemployment has remained above 8% for a record 35 straight months.

The RNC chair added the President promised: ”If you like your insurance plan, you can keep it.  The premiums will be reduced, and it will pay for itself and not increase the deficit by one dime.”  Yet, the true cost of Obamacare once fully implemented will be $2.6 trillion.

Under the Obama administration the national debt has soared to over $15 trillion, going up almost $4.5 trillion under his watch alone.  That’s the most rapid increase in the debt under any president in the nation’s history.

There’s no denying Barack Obama is a big government, tax-and-spend socialistic-leaning liberal.

People are defined by their associations, past or present, their ideology, habits and behavior – Barack Obama has been indeed defined.

The President can’t hide from the fact he’s made questionable choices in the associations he’s made.  Whether it’s been friendships formed with convicted felons, homegrown terrorists, or a clergyman who has a genuine distaste for America by asking God to damn us all.

My grandmother often said: “Take care when you choose who you hang around with.”

Are we to believe the President when he says he attended Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s church in Chicago for some 20 years and never really paid attention to any of the sermons?  Well … then we must have a modern-day Rip Van Winkle occupying the White House.

The President has an ideology, one foreign to most Americans, it envelops his being.  Obama has pushed that “State is all anything anyone ever needs” philosophical doctrine upon an entire country and many want no part of it.

In the realm of public opinion, most have already forged their thoughts concerning the Obama administration.  A few pundits claim Barack Obama will go down in history as the worst president America has ever had.  (Only time will tell if those claims have credence)

I’m of the opinion, the Republican Party, when given the reins of leadership, better not squander the privilege because the voters are watching intently like never before.  The public has learned prosperity breeds complacency, and when there’s a lack of prosperity discernment will prevail. I believe the Democratic Party has swung so far left it will cost them.
